Diego Gachet Páez obtained his PhD. degree in Telecommunications Engineering at Polytechnic University of Madrid (extraordinary Award) in 1993, He also got a Master of Business Administration at UNED en 2002. Currently he is a Full Professor of Computer Science at Universidad Europea de Madrid. From 1993 until 1996 he was a Visiting Associate at Universidad Carlos III in Madrid at Automatic Control Department. During 1990 he was a scholar at Scientific Research Council in Arganda del Rey
From 1998 to 2004 he was Head of the Automatic Control Department at Universidad Europea de Madrid and between 2010 and 2012 responsible of the MsC. degree in Management of Information and Telecommunications Technology . Dr. Gachet is member of Internet of Things Emerging Technical Subcommittee of the IEEE Communication Society, Editor Board at International Journals of Scientific Knowledge, responsible for the technical section of Personal Digital Environment at Novática magazine, and guest editor at Health Informatics journal. Also, he is member of Technical Committees at some international congress as eSioT (Extending Seamlessly to the Internet of Things), ISD2014 (International Conference on Information Systems Development), ISAMI (International Congress Ambient Intelligence), Technical Chair del HealthyIoT 2015 y 2016 etc. Dr. Gachet is also evaluator of R&D projects at ANEP.
Since 2006 is a member of Intelligent Systems Research Group at Universidad Europea de Madrid (http://www.esp.uem.es/gsi/). He has made short research's visits to Napier University, Edinburgh, U.K., Greenwich University, London, U.K.,King College, London, U.K.,University of Liverpool, U.K., University of California at Irvine, USA, University of California at Berkeley, USA, Institute of Software Engineering, University of South California, Los Angeles, USA, CICESE, México, Cyprus European University. Cyprus, etc.
Their research topics are focused in Sensor Networks, Ubiquitous Computing, Internet of Things IoT, Ambient Assisted Living and Information Processing related with Health and Well Being, with special attention to reliable and scalable architectures, Big-Data and real time sensor information processing. He is author of more than 70 articles both in scientific journal and congress proceedings. He has recognized a six-year research period.
